Tara
Chand Saboo Award for Life Time Achievement
Chandigarh, October 20, 2007
Teachers were honoured with the Tara Chand Saboo Excellence
Awards in school teaching during a function held at
PHD Chamber of Commerce, Sector 31, here, today. The
awards, instituted in 2002 by the Jan Seva Trust of
the Saboo family in memory of their patriarch Tara Chand
Saboo, were presented by UT administrator Gen S.F. Rodrigues
(retd).
The Life Time Achievement Award, comprising
a trophy, a citation and cash award of Rs 50,000 was
given to Mr Harold Carver, founder principal of St Stephen’s
School-45. A dedicated educationist with an experience
of 42 years, Carver started a nursery school from a
residential building in Sector 8, Chandigarh. Through
sheer dedication, foresight and meticulous planning,
he was successful in establishing an institution, which
now caters to 3,000 students.
