As part of the Silver Jubilee Celebration
a four day Activity Exhibition was inaugurated today
by the school Architect Mr. Kuldeep Singh Saini and
the first school Captain Dr. Sandeep Aggarwal, in
a traditional way by cutting of the ribbon. This was
followed by the Arti performed by the children. The
school was very tastefully decorated with inviting
archways and beautifully done up corridors.
The Art and Craft Department portrayed
various modes of painting like mosaic, mural, tile
and furniture. The Crockery done up in the decoupage
was just out of the world.
The exhibition on the environment educated
the visitors through models and charts on the need
of the day “ Preserve Environment”. Saplings were
planted by both the chief guests to highlight the
importance of being environment friendly.
The humble beginning of St. Stephen’s
was brought to life through the 25 years of its glorious
and illustrious past, by the history department, which
also exhibited the British era from 1857 to 1947.
One got to see the science exhibition
where the children had prepared working and non working
models and explained them intelligently answering
all the questions put to them. The computer whiz kids
had prepared Power Point presentations for their visitors
which spoke about Microsoft’s new launch Windows Vista
among other things.
On one side the children were busy debating
and quizzing while on the other side the visitors
were entertained with the bhangra, folk dance, Western
and Hindustani music.
The home science laboratory was a display
of a combination of painting, needlework, gift wrapping
and other crafty murals which had the ambience of
a good finishing school.
